Milam County 4-H provides 4-H members with day camps within Milam County as well as some District and State 4-H Camps. Below are some opportunities for the youth of Milam County to participate in.
Dates: July 8th, 9th, & 10th, 2016
Deadline to register for County Camp: June 1st
Location: Lakeview Methodist Conference Center, Palestine TX. (Transportation will be the responsibility of the parents)
Ages: for 4-H members grades 3rd-8th with 4-H members grades 9th-12th serving as Teen Leaders. (For school year 2016-2017)
Cost of Camp: $125 for campers and teen leaders, $85 for adult chaperones. Includes: meals, lodging, snacks and t-shirts
WANTED: Teen Leaders: Senior age 4-H members are needed to help as workshop leaders or group leaders. Please let County Extension Office know if you are interested in being a leader. June 6th – Teen Leader Training, Waco, 10:00 AM (Mandatory for those wanting to be leader)

Fun Day Camp: This FREE Fun Day Camp will be offered from 9am-12pm at Bea’s Kitchen in Cameron. The Day Camp is for ages 5-8 (or those entering K-2 grade next year) who want to learn more about 4-H and do some fun and exciting crafts for the summer. The day camp will also introduce STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) to the kids with fun activities related to engineering. Other activities including learning 4-H pledge and projects to do in 4-H.!
Water Day Camp: 4-H Water Camp will be on July 13th from 3-5pm at the Youth Exposition Building in Cameron. (301 S. Houston, Cameron) The cost is FREE and ages 5-18 (or those entering K-2 grade next year) are welcome to come. Come and have fun at the Water Day Camp. Learn about water conservation, hydration, and have fun playing some water games! Please wear clothes to get wet and/or dirty.
FCS Day Camp: What is FCS Day Camp? Family and Consumer Sciences relates to 4-H projects like food and nutrition, consumer education, and clothing and textiles. At FCS Camp we will be sewing scarves, making homemade pie crusts, and learning how to shop!!! Time for this camp will be from 9am-4pm and lunch will be provided. The cost of the camp is FREE! Please bring: 1 yard total polar fleece (1/3 yard of 3 colors)- 3 colors to coordinate like school colors, holiday, etc. The FCS Camp will be held at the Abiding Lutheran Church in Cameron, TX. Ages will be for 5-18 year olds (or those entering K-12 grade this coming year).
Outdoor Challenge Summer Opportunity:
The 2016 4-H Outdoor Challenge is scheduled for June 17-19 in Guadalupe County at the Seguin Outdoor Learning Center. Registration opens in May on 4-H Connect.
