4-H Facebook: Do not forget we have a 4-H Facebook page!!!! We post 4-H Blasts, 4-H contest results and neat opportunities to do in 4-H! Make sure that you “see us first” in your settings. Step 1: Like the Page, Step 2: Click on Following, Step 3: See First, Step 4: Turn Notifications ON! Then you will see all 4-H posts when they arrive! DURING THIS TIME, PLEASE CHECK THE FACEBOOK FOR UPDATED INFORMATION ON EVENTS SO YOU CAN RECEIVE THEM IN A TIMELY MANNER!
4-H Banquet: We have decided to postpone the 4-H Banquet set for September 13th. Please keep updated on the new date and time in the upcoming 4-H Blasts.
Rockdale Fair Rules Updated: The Rockdale Fair Rules for 2020 have been updated on the website and there are some MAJOR changes! Please look ASAP!!! https://counties.agrilife.org/mc4h/rockdale-fair/ PLEASE READ ALL RULES FOR DATES AND DEADLINES! Here are the major livestock dates!!! More rules for baked goods and Home Economics will be available soon!
Milam County Junior Livestock Show: Turkey orders for the Milam County Jr. Livestock Show are now open.
Deadline – Monday, August 17, 2020 by 7:00pm. The price of turkey poults is $4.25 per bird ($106.25 per 25 poults).
To order, please contact Sandra Waiser (979) 219-4092 or Melvin Hollas (254) 697-1911. Payment is due in full to the Milam County Jr. Livestock Association by the set deadline. You may also order birds that afternoon before the MCJLS Board meeting.
State Fair/Heart of Texas Entry Information:
The deadline to have these completed and submitted to my office is Friday, August 23, 2020 by 5:00pm. Due to concerns about social distancing this can be done 1 of 2 ways.

No entries will be processed or submitted online until payment is received. Entries received after August 23rd will be subject to late fees according to each show’s rules.
The 2020 State Fair of Texas will be a Jr. Market Show Only. All Jr. Heifers, Jr. Gilts, and Jr. Prospect Steers will be given the opportunity to show at “The United” in Waco at the Heart O’ Texas Fair Grounds. This show is a partnership between State Fair and HOT Fair in an effort to provide Texas 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors the best opportunity to show at a Fall Major. For more information. We have some EXCITING opportunities this summer to do at home! Please join us this summer! No 4-H membership required. Unfortunately, we will not be providing summer day camps this summer, so this is our way to make this summer super fun! Invite all your friends to join in the fun!
Cooking Around the World 4-H Project: THERE’S STILL TIME!!!! CALLING ALL BAKERS AND CHEFS!
Milam County 4-H FCH Coalition is asking 4-H members to submit their favorite dishes from around the world!
Each week, we will highlight a different country!
Please submit your favorite recipe and a picture of you with your dish you made! Optional: Those who would like to can also submit a video of you demonstrating your dish that will be published on facebook (will need a YouTube link).
All recipes will be put into a 4-H Cookbook that will be available later in the fall.
You can still submit any Country recipes after the weeks have past!!!!! We ask that all recipes be submitted by August 7th.
