4-H Facebook: Don’t forget we have a 4-H Facebook page!!!! We post 4-H Blasts, 4-H contest results and neat opportunities to do in 4-H! Make sure that you “see us first” in your settings. Step 1: Like the Page, Step 2: Click on Following, Step 3: See First, Step 4: Turn Notifications ON! Then you will see all 4-H posts when they arrive!
2020 Spring Major Show Sheep & Goat and Heifer Validation (FWSSR, San Angelo, San Antonio, Houston, Austin)
Major heifer validation for Spring major shows will be Tuesday, October 22, 2019 4:00-6:00pm at the MCJLS barn in Cameron.
Major sheep and goat validation for Spring major shows will be Thursday, October 24, 2019 4:00-6:00pm at the MCJLS barn in Cameron.
Swine Tag Order (Major Shows): Major Show Swine Tag orders are now available in the Extension office to order. Deadline: TBA
4-H Shooting Sports: 4-H Shooting sports project will start in December. If you are interested in signing up for the project, please call or email club manager, Keely Reisner. email@example.com or 254-721-9270.

National 4-H Week:
Promote 4-H by participating in the 4-H Coloring Contest Rules:
Color page with markers or crayons
Place name on back of page with Name, Grade, Town (Age divisions: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12)
Make sure you color the right page for each age division– Pumpkin (Ages K-2) and Girl #iam4H (3-12)
Must be a 4-H member to participate, enroll online: www.join4h.com

National 4-H Week/One Day 4-H: We will be helping at Steak, Stein, and Wine Fest- 12pm-1pm- Set up for PlayStreets, 1pm-4pm- Playstreets- kids come out and play and help with monitoring kids on inflatables as well as not take off with anything, 4pm-8pm: Help serve at the steak dinner (2 shifts- 5 and 6:30pm) (Encourage 4-H members to wear a 4-H tshirt or club tshirt). Christmas Card Art Contest:
Submit your best original design to the Texas 4-H Foundation and your artwork may be chosen as one of the five official 4-H Foundation Christmas Cards!
The Christmas Card Contest is open to 4-H Members of all ages. Design a 5×7″ Christmas Card and mail it, along with the Christmas Card Design Contest Entry Form, to the Texas 4-H Foundation, P.O. Box 11020, College Station, TX 77842.
Student must be a 4-H Member to participate. Submissions must be postmarked by October 25th; if possible sent artwork, along with entry form, in a ‘do not bend’ envelope. Artwork must be able to fit into a 5×7″ template. Only original artwork will be considered, digital art or photography will not be considered. By entering your artwork, you are giving the Texas 4-H Foundation permission to use and/or sell your art as part of a fundraising effort in support of the Texas 4-H Foundation County Grant Program. Winners will be announced November 1, 2019.
4-H Food Show/Food Challenge Training: We will have a 4-H Food Show and Food Challenge training on October 22nd at the Extension Office. We will learn about the 4-H food show and food challenge and sign up for County and District Contests. Please RSVP by email if you plan to come: firstname.lastname@example.org or confirm your attendance on the event on facebook!
Scholarship Training: A scholarship training will be held for all 4-H high school students and their parents on Tuesday, October 22nd at 7pm at the Cameron Chamber Meeting Room. We will learn about scholarships available, how to complete an application, and how to organize your junior and senior year! Please call the Office to RSVP 254-697-7045 or confirm your spot on the facebook event.

Recordbook Training: Get a head start on a 4-H Recordbook! Learn how the recordbooks work, what goes in them and how to get started on one! The training will be held November 6 at 7pm at Bea’s Kitchen in Cameron. Please bring notepad, pen, and a calendar! Please RSVP and confirm your spot on the facebook event!
Holiday Gift Idea:
On November 21st the Holiday Gift Idea Exchange will be held at Bea’s Kitchen in Cameron from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. You will see a variety of demonstrations, get handouts with instructions for the projects and enjoy refreshments and door prizes. Everyone is welcome at the program. Come to the Holiday Gift Idea Exchange on November 18 and get new ideas for the holiday season.
4-H members (K-12th grade) are encouraged to participate as an individual or with a friend or family member. They will create a food or craft themed for the Holidays and will demonstrate it to the audience on how to make it. They will need to bring the supplies and an item finished for the demonstration along with giving one finished product away as a door prize. Deadline to submit instructions will be: November 8th Only electronic instructions will be accepted this year.
