Spring Forage Field Day, MP Brangus

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, McLennan County along with multiple county extension committees will host the 7th Annual Spring Forage Field Day on Friday, May 27th. This year’s event will be hosted by Mr. Mark Perry and held at his property MP Brangus in Valley Mills, Texas. Garrett Thomas of Hi-Point Sales and Marketing will speak on Expected Progeny Difference. Logan Dodd from Trans Ova Genetics will be speaking on Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer. Jon DeClerck, a Beef Consulting Nutritionist with Purina, will speak on the Importance of Correct Mineral Supplementation. David Groschke, local cattleman and Limestone County Agent will speak on Replacement Female and Herd Sire Selection. Vanessa Corriher-Olson, Extension Forage Specialist will speak on Managing Native Forage, and Tracy Woods, Chief Genetics Officer with 44 Farms will be there to speak on Low Stress Weaning of Calves. There is a $10 Registration Fee and includes both a great breakfast sponsors by Lone Star Ag Credit and a beef Fajita lunch sponsored by Purina Feeds.

Directions:

From the East it is 3.58 miles from hwy 317/Hwy 6 Intersection in Valley Mills to Wolf Lane.  Turn right onto Wolf Lane and drive 2 miles.  Turn Right again.

From the West turn left onto Wolf Lane and drive 2 miles.

There will be Extension signs with arrows pointing the way the day of the program (on Hwy 6 and at Marks gate).
